Learner Journey or Continuum Learn: which suits a membership organisation?
Learner Journey suits a small membership body that wants to start for free: as of October 2026 it offers a free plan with no card or time limit, courses and learning paths, member-free event bookings with check-in and attendance certificates, quizzes with verifiable certificates, an AI tutor, AI podcasts and a website builder on your own domain. Its membership page says it does not integrate directly with membership databases today; members join by invitation or link and data moves by CSV.
Continuum Learn suits a body that needs members to sign in with their existing accounts and see training by membership grade: it adds single sign-on with AMS/CRM sync, membership tiers, native live streaming with automatic replays and CPD certificates with hours and expiry, from £49 a month for up to 50 active learners. NFU Education runs more than 5,400 active learners on it.
Two affordable options, built for different starting points
Learner Journey is a newer platform with a generous free plan and a strong AI angle: an AI tutor grounded in your own courses, AI-generated podcasts with transcripts and an RSS feed, and an AI website builder that creates a branded public site with a members-only area behind it. For a small association taking its first steps online, that is a compelling way to start.
Continuum Learn is built for membership bodies whose training is already part of the membership offer. Members sign in with the accounts they already have, see the courses their grade includes, attend live events that are streamed and recorded inside the platform, and receive CPD certificates that anyone can verify. It costs from £49 a month, and every feature is on every plan.
Where Continuum Learn goes further for membership bodies
The capabilities associations most often ask us about.
Single sign-on & AMS/CRM sync
Members sign in with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta or Google Workspace, with optional two-factor authentication, and records stay in step with your membership system.
Membership tiers & access levels
Map courses to membership grades, branches and cohorts so each member sees the training included in their membership.
Native live streaming
Broadcast AGMs, CPD days and webinars to thousands of members, with replays recorded automatically and live or replay access for sale.
CPD certificates with hours and expiry
Numbered certificates that record CPD hours, carry a public verification link and remind learners before they expire.
SCORM import and export
Bring in SCORM 1.2 and 2004 courses from elsewhere, or export yours to run in another LMS.
Welsh and eight more languages
Learners can switch the interface to Welsh, French, German, Spanish and more, with AI-assisted translation of your course content.
Side by side
Based on each platform's published pages as of October 2026.
Learner Journey details are taken from learnerjourney.com (pricing and membership-organisations pages) as of October 2026. "Not stated" means we could not find it on those pages, not that it is unavailable. Confirm current features and plans with Learner Journey before deciding.
When Learner Journey might be the better fit
We would rather you choose well than choose us.
You need to start for free
If there is no budget yet, Learner Journey's free plan lets you begin without paying anything. Our free trial is time-limited.
AI tutoring and podcasts
An AI tutor grounded in your courses and AI-generated podcast episodes are not things Continuum offers.
You need a whole website, not just a learning site
Learner Journey's AI website builder creates a multi-page public site for prospective members as well as the members-only area.
In-person events with check-in
If your events are mostly in-person bookings with check-in and attendance certificates, Learner Journey's event tools are built around that.
Common questions
Is Learner Journey free?
Yes. As of October 2026 Learner Journey offers a free plan with no card and no time limit, and paid Premium (£10 a month) and Pro (£50 a month) plans that add AI credits, workspaces, analytics and custom branding. Continuum Learn starts at £49 a month for up to 50 active learners and offers a free trial with no card.
Does Learner Journey integrate with our membership database?
Its membership-organisations page says direct membership database integration is not available today: members join by invitation or link, and attendance and completion data is exported to CSV for your CRM. Continuum Learn offers single sign-on and keeps member records in step with your AMS or CRM.
Which is better for CPD?
Both issue verifiable certificates. Continuum records CPD hours on each certificate, issues it on course completion or live attendance, shows its validity on a public verification page and sends expiry reminders before renewal.
Which has better live events?
Learner Journey focuses on event bookings, check-in and attendance certificates. Continuum Learn streams live sessions natively inside the platform, records replays automatically and can sell live or replay access.
Can we move from Learner Journey to Continuum Learn?
Yes. Our team helps import learners and course content during onboarding, and Continuum imports SCORM 1.2 and 2004 packages.
