What is an LMS for professional bodies?
An LMS for professional bodies is a learning platform that institutes, chartered bodies and professional associations use to deliver CPD to their members: courses and live events that award CPD hours, certificates members can prove, and reporting that shows members are keeping their knowledge current. Continuum Learn is a UK-built LMS that does this on every plan, from £49 a month.
Professional bodies need more than a course library. Members must evidence CPD to stay in good standing, employers and regulators need to check that a certificate is genuine, and qualifications often lapse unless they are renewed. Continuum Learn records CPD hours on every certificate, gives each one a unique number and a public verification page showing whether it is still valid, and emails members before it expires. Several courses can be grouped into a programme that awards one certificate.
Members sign in with single sign-on and see the CPD their membership grade includes, and you can sell the rest to members and non-members through Stripe. Live CPD days, webinars and AGMs are streamed inside the platform with replays recorded automatically, and attendance can trigger the certificate. For the wider membership offer, see our member training LMS.

Built around CPD
The parts of a professional body's education programme that a generic LMS leaves to spreadsheets.

Expiry and renewal reminders

CPD from live events
Award CPD for webinars, CPD days and conferences streamed inside the platform, based on attendance, with replays kept for those who missed it.
Grades and pathways
Map courses to membership grades and build pathways from student to fellow, with one certificate for completing a programme.

Professional bodies: common questions
What is the best CPD management software for associations?
Look for software that records CPD hours on certificates, lets anyone verify a certificate, reminds members before certificates expire, and awards CPD for live events as well as courses. Continuum Learn does all four on every plan from £49 a month. If members must log CPD they did elsewhere, check that feature specifically: Continuum does not offer an external CPD log yet.
Can members log CPD they did elsewhere?
Not yet. Members can see the certificates and CPD hours they earn on Continuum. Logging CPD from other sources is on our roadmap, and we do not give a date.
Does Continuum Learn accredit CPD?
No. Accreditation comes from bodies such as the CPD Certification Service or the CPD Standards Office. Continuum prints the hours you set and lets you add an accreditor's logo to the certificate template, where you have their permission.
Can certificates expire?
Yes. Set a validity period in months on a course or programme, and the certificate shows its expiry date, the verification page shows whether it is still valid, and members are emailed before it expires.
How much does it cost?
£49 a month for 1–50 active learners, £99 for 51–100 and £150 for 101–250, ex VAT, with every feature included. You are billed on members who learn during the year, not your whole membership, and registered non-profits get up to 40% off.
