An AI course creator that turns topics and documents into editable courses
Describe the course, or upload the document it should be built from. The AI proposes the modules and lessons, you review them, and it writes the lesson content into the same visual builder you use for everything else.
You approve the outline before any lesson is written, and every generated lesson opens in the normal course builder.
- PDF, Word, PowerPoint or a topic
- You review the outline first
- Edit every lesson afterwards
What is an AI course creator?
An AI course creator drafts a structured course for you, either from a topic you describe or from a document you already have, so you start from a full draft instead of a blank page. In Continuum Learn the draft is a real course: modules, lessons and builder components that you can edit, quiz, brand and publish like any other.
Choose a course or publication, enter a title and describe the topic or upload a source document. Review the proposed modules and lessons, and refine them before any content is written. For PDF sources you can also review how pages and figures are assigned to lessons. Lesson content is then generated in the background.
How closely should it follow your document? Choose Exact to ask the AI to keep the source's structure and wording, Strict to keep closely to its content, Balanced to rewrite it as teaching material, or Loose to expand from it. These settings guide the AI rather than guarantee the wording, so check the finished course against the source before you publish.
The honest limit is that AI drafts need a human read. The AI can misread a source or add detail that is wrong, so treat the output as a first draft and review it before learners see it. Lessons that fail the automated review are flagged rather than hidden, and you can retry them. For courses written elsewhere, see the full feature list, and for languages see multilingual LMS.
Generated courses are ordinary builder courses, so everything the AI writes can be edited, reordered or deleted

Start from a topic or a document
Pick course or publication, choose how assessments are handled, then describe the topic or upload a PDF, Word or PowerPoint file.
A generated lesson open in the builder
Generated lessons are made of normal builder components, listed by module on the left, so you edit them the same way as any other lesson.
Why start a course with AI
The slow part of a course is usually the first draft. This takes that part off your plate and leaves the judgement with you.
A structured first draft
Upload the document or describe the topic and get a full outline and lesson content to work from.
You approve the structure first
Modules and lessons are shown for review, with a refine chat, before any lesson content is written.
Control over how faithful it is
Choose how closely the draft should follow your document, then check its wording and coverage before you publish.
Editable, not locked in
The result is a normal course in the visual builder, ready for your own edits, branding, quizzes and SCORM export.
Who uses the AI course creator
Training teams with documents already written
Turn a policy, handbook or slide deck into lessons without retyping it. Choose Strict or Exact to keep the wording close to the source.
Subject experts starting from a topic
Describe the audience and learning objectives, approve the proposed modules, and edit the lessons in your own voice.
Teams that already use another AI tool
Paste course JSON written by an external AI into the course editor with Import JSON, and it appears as modules and lessons in the builder.
AI course creator features in Continuum Learn
Everything below is in the product today
Topic, PDF, Word or PowerPoint
Start from a written topic, or upload PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX or TXT files (up to 32 MB each), or paste up to 600,000 characters of text.
Review your source coverage
For PDF sources, check which pages and figures are assigned to each lesson before the content is generated.
Outline review and refine chat
Review the proposed modules, then the lessons, and ask the AI to change them before content is generated.
Four levels of source adherence
Exact, Strict, Balanced and Loose guide how closely the AI follows your source. Review the result whichever setting you choose.
Figures and tables kept from your PDF
Diagrams in a PDF are cut out as sharp vector graphics where the file allows (a high-resolution image otherwise) and placed in the right lesson, and tables are rebuilt as real editable tables. Flowcharts can become editable flowchart blocks.
Assessment style
Choose Let AI decide, No quizzes, a quiz per lesson or a quiz per module. Publications never get quizzes.
Real builder components
Lessons use text, lists, accordions, flashcards, images, carousels, tables, flowcharts, buttons and quizzes, not a single block of text.
Monthly AI budget per team
AI use is capped per team for each billing period. Teams can opt in to pay-as-you-go use beyond the included allowance.
Import JSON from other AI tools
Paste course JSON in a documented format into the course editor. A check-only mode validates it first, and modules are added to the course.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI course creator?
It depends on what you start with. If you already have documents, pick a tool that can build from them and lets you review the outline first. Continuum Learn builds from a topic, PDF, Word or PowerPoint file, shows you the modules and lessons before writing, and outputs an editable course in the same builder you publish from.
Can I turn a PDF into a course?
Yes. Upload the PDF in the Create with AI wizard, choose how closely the AI should follow it, and review the proposed modules and lessons. Diagrams in the PDF are cut out and placed in the lessons, and tables are rebuilt as editable tables. Each file can be up to 32 MB. PowerPoint (PPT, PPTX) and Word (DOC, DOCX) files work too: they are converted to PDF first and then handled the same way.
Will the AI-written course be accurate?
Not always, so review it before publishing. The AI can misread a source or add detail that is wrong. Lessons that fail the automated check are flagged for you, and the Exact and Strict settings keep the wording close to your document, but a person should read the result.
Can I edit the course afterwards?
Yes. Generated lessons are made of normal builder components, so you can edit, reorder, restyle or delete any of them. You can also export the finished course as SCORM.
Does the AI course creator write quizzes?
Yes. Choose Let AI decide, No quizzes, a quiz per lesson or a quiz per module. You can also generate a quiz for a single lesson from its quiz block. Publications do not include quizzes.
Is there a limit on how much AI I can use?
Yes. Each team has a monthly AI budget for its billing period, based on its plan, and generation stops when it is used up. Teams can opt in to pay-as-you-go use beyond that allowance. Ask us about your plan's allowance.
Can it create courses in other languages?
Partly. The wizard has no language picker: it writes in your team's default language, or the course's language when it is run from an existing course. Once a course exists you can translate it with AI from its Languages tab. See multilingual LMS.
Can I bring in a course written by ChatGPT or another AI tool?
Yes. Use Import JSON in the course editor. We publish a guide you can give your AI tool that describes the format, and a check-only mode validates the JSON before it adds modules to your course.
Can I upload confidential documents?
Source content is sent to external AI services for processing. Ask us about the providers and their data-handling terms before you upload confidential material.
